Eligibility for EU Engagement Adviser (internationally recruited) at IDLO
- Place of posting: Brussels
Requirements
- Graduate degree in political sciences, law, international relations, public administration or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in an international/multilateral organization.
- At least 6 years of direct engagement with EU institutions.
- Demonstrated experience engaging with EU institutions and funding mechanisms.
- Proven track record in resource mobilization and partnership development.
- Full professional competence in written and verbal English communication.
- French language skills are desired; knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
- Strong capacity to interpret political and policy developments.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good organizational and planning skills.
Responsibilities
- Serve as IDLO’s focal point for engagement with EU institutions.
- Coordinate the establishment of an IDLO representation presence in Brussels.
- Develop and implement IDLO’s EU engagement plan.
- Monitor and analyze EU policy relevant to rule of law and governance.
- Identify funding opportunities under EU instruments.
- Support the development of high-quality EU concept notes and proposals.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with Brussels-based partners.
- Contribute to IDLO’s policy positioning and advocacy efforts.
- Organize high-level meetings and outreach activities.
- Lead internal coordination efforts on EU engagement.
