Sources Policy

This page explains where the job listings on CareersOz come from and what we accept as a source.

What we accept as a source

  • The official website or portal of the employer, government body, commission or testing agency that is hiring.
  • A newspaper advertisement that carries its publication date and names an identifiable employer.
  • An official notice or document (for example a PDF published by a ministry or department) whose issuer is clear.
  • A listing on a Pakistani jobs website (for example Jobz.pk or Rozee.pk) that says how to apply. We write the listing in our own words, and when we have no official application page the Apply button takes you to that listing, where the application route is given.

What we do not accept

  • A listing on another website that does not say how to apply.
  • Forwarded messages, anonymous social media posts and screenshots without a traceable origin.

Listings without an accepted source

If we cannot tie a listing to an accepted source, it is not shown as verified. It is held for editorial review and we ask search engines not to index it until a source has been confirmed.

What you see on a listing

Each job page has a "Source and verification" section with the official website or newspaper where we have it, the date we published the listing and the date its content last changed. The Apply button leads to the official application page, or for a listing found on a jobs website without one, to that listing; CareersOz does not collect applications for these employers.

Advertisement images and documents

Where we show an advertisement image or document, it comes from the official source when one is available. We do not edit or alter advertisements.

Automated collection

Part of our source monitoring is automated. Our crawler identifies itself as CareersOzBot, follows each website's robots.txt, and does not access pages that require a login or bypass access controls. Listings collected this way go to a review queue; a person publishes them.

CareersOz is not affiliated with the organisations listed unless we say so. Always confirm the details on the official source before you apply or pay any fee.
