This policy explains what information CareersOz collects, how it is used and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Account information you provide when you register: name, email address, password (stored hashed) and optionally phone or WhatsApp number.
• Career profile details you choose to add: education, skills, experience and preferences, used only to personalise recommendations.
• Activity on the site such as saved items, alerts, searches and pages viewed, used to run features and improve the service.
• Application assistance data: the details and documents you submit when requesting our paid assistance service, including payment references and any documents you upload.
• Job applications you submit to employers through CareersOz, including your CV.
• Technical data such as IP address, browser type and device, collected automatically for security, analytics and fraud prevention.

How we use it

• To provide the website, your account and the features you request.
• To send emails you have asked for: verification, alerts, deadline reminders, newsletters and updates about your requests. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.
• To deliver application assistance, which includes contacting you on WhatsApp and using your documents solely to complete the application you asked us to help with.
• To share your job application with the employer you applied to.
• To measure and improve the site, prevent abuse and comply with legal obligations.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with the employer you apply to, with service providers that help us run the site (hosting, email delivery, analytics, payment services) under confidentiality obligations, and where required by law.

Advertising and analytics

CareersOz uses Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, and may show advertising through Google AdSense.

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to CareersOz and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.
• Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
• Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for their consent before personalised ads or advertising cookies are used, through a consent message shown on their first visit.

Google Analytics collects information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay and the type of device you use. It does not give us your name or contact details. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Retention

Account data is kept while your account is active. Application assistance documents are deleted after the request is completed and our record-keeping period ends, or earlier on request. You can delete your account from your profile page at any time.

Your rights

You can access, correct or delete your information and withdraw consent to marketing emails at any time. Contact us through the Contact page for any privacy request.

Children

CareersOz is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

We may update this policy. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of this page.
