Eligibility for Adolescent Counsellor (Part Time) at Kerry Rape & Sexual Abuse Centre
- Must be able to work with adolescents aged 16 years and above.
- Ability to offer counselling to adults when required.
Requirements
- Relevant professional qualification in Counselling or Psychotherapy (Minimum Diploma level, Masters preferred).
- Fully qualified and accredited by IACP, IAHIP, or equivalent authority.
- Minimum of 2 years’ counselling experience, preferably with survivors of sexual violence.
- Experience providing individual counselling to adolescents and young people.
- Knowledge of therapeutic and trauma-informed practices.
Responsibilities
- Engage with adolescents and young people in a therapeutic manner.
- Use a youth-centred approach for one-to-one therapeutic support.
- Facilitate parental support and collaborate with parents/guardians.
- Offer counselling to adults when required by the service.
- Develop therapeutic treatment plans based on clients’ needs.
- Maintain up-to-date records of all counselling appointments.
- Liaise with other professionals and agencies as authorized.
- Attend monthly clinical supervision appointments.
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities.
- Engage in fundraising and promotional activities as requested.
