The University of St Andrews is seeking a Research Fellow (Rabies - Urban Zoonosis) for a fixed-term position in St Andrews, UK. Applications close on 14 January 2027. This position involves conducting research on the historical approaches to rabies as a zoonotic disease from 1770 to 1870, focusing on Europe and Argentina. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Professor Christos Lynteris and contribute to the understanding of medical history, anthropology, and animal studies.
Ideal applicants will have a PhD or be nearing completion in relevant fields. Experience in medical historical or anthropological research on infectious diseases or non-human animals is highly encouraged.
