Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of Rwanda 2026/2027 (Fully-funded)

The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of Rwanda for the 2026/2027 academic year is currently accepting applications. The deadline for submissions is 12 October 2026.

Overview

• Must be a citizen of Rwanda or any African nation, a refugee, or a young individual displaced within Africa.
• Should meet academic qualifications.
• Must exhibit significant social and/or economic needs and/or have a disability.
• For undergraduates, applicants should be no older than 28 years at the time of application, or no more than 30 years if they have verified proof of a prolonged life condition (e.g., refugees, single mothers, members of child-headed families).
• Must fulfill admission requirements for eligible programs at the University of Rwanda.
• Should have a record of leadership and active community involvement.
• Must demonstrate a strong commitment to community service and be willing to “Go Back” and/or “Give Back” to their community.
• Refugees and individuals with disabilities should present legal proof of their status.

• Extensive financial assistance covering full tuition fees, paid on-campus housing, a laptop, educational materials, an annual return ticket allowance, and a monthly stipend for the whole year.
• Availability of psycho-social support services.
• Unique internships sourced from industry partners for career growth.

• Career development services including industrial mentorship, career advice, and professional growth opportunities.
