About this role

As a Mental Health Care Assistant, you will support patients with mental and emotional challenges under the guidance of mental health professionals. Your responsibilities will include assisting patients with daily activities and monitoring their progress.

You will also engage with patients to develop therapeutic relationships, maintain confidentiality, and ensure a clean and safe environment. This role requires working day shifts only, primarily from Monday to Friday.

Eligibility for Mental Health Care Assistant at NHS Professionals Limited

Requirements

Minimum of 12 months experience as a Mental Health HCA in NHS or private hospitals in the UK
Must hold a valid PMVA certification
Availability to work day shifts, ideally Monday to Friday

Responsibilities

Listen and talk to patients and their carers
Document observations and nursing care accurately
Report any concerns to the supervising staff
Maintain confidentiality in all patient matters
Assist with personal hygiene and daily activities
Act as a positive role model for patients and staff
Manage aggression using approved de-escalation techniques
Escort patients as needed within the hospital
