The position is integral to the new Medical School, which launched in September 2026, and involves overseeing the assessment framework for the MBBS programme.
The MBBS Head of Assessment will shape and lead the assessment function, ensuring compliance with GMC requirements. Responsibilities include managing the assessment strategy, governance, and quality assurance, as well as overseeing formative and summative assessments for Years 1 and 2 of the MBBS programme.
The postholder will act as Chief and Principal Examiner, moderating assessments and collaborating with the examinations team and external stakeholders. They will also mentor assessment staff to promote continuous improvement in assessment practices.
