Salisbury Diocesan Board of Finance seeks a Deputy Diocesan Safeguarding Officer in Salisbury, with applications closing on 27 November 2026. This role is important for providing operational leadership and oversight within the Diocesan Safeguarding Team. You will work closely with the Director of Safeguarding to enhance safeguarding practices across the Diocese, including the Channel Islands.
The Deputy Diocesan Safeguarding Officer will manage casework, support colleagues in responding to safeguarding concerns, and assess and mitigate risks. You will also help develop safeguarding practices, promote a positive safeguarding culture, and ensure compliance with Church of England policies and procedures.
This position requires collaboration with churches, vicars, senior diocesan leaders, and statutory agencies. You will provide leadership and professional judgment, ensuring effective safeguarding measures are in place while building a helpful team environment.
